TestOut's Kurt Blackburn and Jeff Randall premiered the TestOut Office Pro 6.2 and the new updates as well as how to use them. Here are some common questions and answers from the live premiere:
Question 1: If I’m using TestOut Office Pro 2019 v 6.0 how do my students get access to these 6.2 upgrades and the upgrade Practice exams for MOS Word Associate 2019 (MO-100) and MOS Excel Associate 2019 (Exam MO-200) exams?
Answer: On March 29th 2021 there will be an automatic update.
Question 2: Will instructors be able to do a couple of practice exams ourselves before we open it up to the kids on March 29?
Answer: No, unfortunately everyone (instructors and students) will receive the update on March 29.
Question 3: During the practice exam, once students submit the “project” will they be allowed to go back to that project before submitting for a final score?
Answer: Yes, they will be able to return to that project before submitting for final score, however, they will have to redo the whole question.
Question 4: Can a student repeat a the Practice exams for MOS Word Associate 2019 (MO-100) and MOS Excel Associate 2019 (Exam MO-200) exams?
Answer: Yes, the practice exams can be repeated as many times as the student would like.
Question 5: How many questions in the Form A and Form B Microsoft Office Specialist MOS Practice Exams?
Answer: Each practice exam form is roughly the same length as students will see on the actual MOS exam.
- Form A includes seven questions with five tasks each for a total of 35 tasks.
- Form B also includes seven questions with five tasks with a total of 35 tasks.
Question 6: What is the time limit on practice exams? Is it 50 minutes like the certification exams?
Answer: Yes, 50 minutes for both Form A and Form B. Each practice exam form is roughly the same length as students will see on the actual MOS exam.
Question 7: Are the domain practice activities available now and just the Form A/B are updated in March?
Answer: Everything will be available March 29, including both the domain practice and Forms A and B.
Question 8: Will the 7 questions that are available in the practice exams be available to use for Custom exams?
Answer: Yes, the practice exam labs (Form A and Form B) are available to use.
Question 9: Was the Excel 2019 section on importing files updated? When I took the Excel MOS Specialist exam a couple of months ago (approx. December 2020) it was completely different than instruction and practiced in TestOut?
Answer: Yes, both the Word and Excel 2019 practice exams have been significantly updated to better prepare for the current MOS exams
Question 10: I’d like to get a list of what’s included in each domain practice. I can have the students identify the tab, group, and task button they will use to complete the task while we wait for March 29.
Answer: Unfortunately, we are unable to have an early release domain practice questions.
Question 11: For the MOS Excel Expert 2019 (MO-201) Excel Expert, any plans for it in upcoming releases?
Answer: Yes, we are working on expert level word and excel training and practice tests. No date on when they will be released yet.
Question 12: I see that some topics/information that are required for the Word exam are found in other sections, such as PowerPoint. For example, SmartArt is in PowerPoint, but needs to also be in Word. Have those been updated?
Answer: SmartArt training, is now available in both Word and PowerPoint. Yes, the domain practice and new practice exam materials for Word now include SmartArt.
Question 13: Is MS Access included?
Answer: Currently MS Access is part of Office Pro but we don’t have a practice test for it. In other words, the TestOut Office Pro (English 6.x.x) course prepares students for the following Microsoft Office Specialist exams, but it only those with an asterisk have exam prep in Appendix B
