Johnny Carrera has worked in the IT field for 28 years. He started his career as a manufacturing engineer for the Austin based company National Instruments. After a few years, he moved back to his home town of San Antonio to work for the Northside Independent School District as a network administrator. After mentioning to the principal of one of Northside's high schools that they should start an IT program, he was asked to start that program at Holmes High School. This started his 12-year high school career. Six years ago he was asked to teach part-time for the Rackspace Open Cloud Academy, turning full time 5 years ago. Johnny loves to help people realize their dream of entering the IT field. He loves what he does and it shows in his passion for his students.
