On June 11, CompTIA renamed the learning platform formerly known as LabSim to CertMaster as part of ongoing efforts to integrate the TestOut and CompTIA learning portfolios. While current URLs will remain functional, a new URL was introduced to access the platform: https://platform.comptia.org.
Additionally, minor changes to terminology within the platform changed to create consistency.
What does this mean for you?
- You will see references to CompTIA instead of TestOut and CertMaster instead of LabSim on the platform
- https://platform.comptia.org/ should be added to the allowed sites list at your organization as needed
- Students purchasing from the CompTIA store will be sent to https://platform.comptia.org/ to access and set up their courseware
- labsimapp.testout.com will continue to exist and work for the foreseeable future, but we recommend that you begin transitioning your bookmarks and references to https://platform.comptia.org/
What about LMS Integrations?
No action is required at this time; however, a new configuration will need to be set up for platform.comptia.org. A follow up communication with further details will be sent out when actions are needed.
Curious were the terminology changes are located?
The changes were made anywhere you saw a reference to LabSim on the platform. Mainly in a variety of dialog boxes, including those for login recovery, confirming archive actions, creating a class, inviting a student, unenrolling a student, or moving students to another organization. Other references ar in our help dialogues, proctoring guidelines, and Chargify subscription communications.
