Platform: LabSim6
Periodically monitoring your roster in LabSim, especially during the first couple weeks of class, can help you proactively review detail before you or the students have concerns.
This would apply to anyone using LabSim course material whether you use the LabSim platform or the school’s learning management system (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, D2L etc.

Steps
If you use the LabSim platform (typically by going to testout.com and logging in):
- Click on your class name
- Use the student list in LabSim to compare that with your school roster.
- If any student is missing, contact the student or enroll the student yourself (if the student has a LabSim account).
- You will only see report data for students enrolled in your class. However, please note that once students are enrolled, you can view all their completed work.
- Confirm that in the Required Products Are Activated column each student has a Yes.
- If a student has a Yes by their name, you see report data for this student. Great!
- If a student has a No by their name, that indicates the student:
- Hasn’t purchased the LabSim product for the class.
- Has purchased the product but not activated it yet.
- Has purchased the wrong product for the class.
- Contact the student to determine why there is a No.
- Ensure the student has the purchasing detail.
- Ensure the student has instructions on setting up their LabSim account.
- If a student purchased the wrong product code, they should immediately contact the seller to correct the situation.
Note: Should you or the student need any assistance, please contact a TestOut representative - After the student has activated the correct product for the class the No will change to a Yes.
If you use an Learning Management System (LMS) to access the LabSim platform:
- Find and click the LabSim course link in your LMS course.
Note: The link will typically launch into the assignment. - Click the House icon inside of LabSim.
- Under the My Campus tab click your class name.
- Similar to above, use the student list in LabSim to compare that with your school roster.
- If any student is missing, contact the student or enroll the student yourself (if the student has a LabSim account).
