Functionality
With Blackboard LTI 1.3, there is no longer a one-to-one ratio for grade return. This means that all scores for TestOut assignments in your course that students complete will automatically be returned to your Blackboard Grade Book, whether they click on the actual TestOut assignment link in the course or not. Additionally, if students log in directly to testout.com to complete assignments, grades will still automatically be returned to the Blackboard course Grade Book. Though please note that students need to click at least one TestOut assignment in the Blackboard course for their TestOut account to be integrated (so scores can return from TestOut to Blackboard).
Each instructor will also want to click at least one TestOut assignment in the Blackboard course. This step will ensure that the instructor TestOut account is integrated, and automatically create a class in the instructor TestOut account named after the Blackboard course. As each student clicks on their initial TestOut assignment in the Blackboard course, in addition to their TestOut account becoming integrated, they will also be automatically enrolled in the automatically created class in the instructor's TestOut account.
Note: Only scores achieved within a Blackboard course's start and end dates will be synced to Blackboard.
Further Note: TestOut sends a raw percentage score to the LMS. Then it’s up to the LMS on how to work with the percentage and display the score. In most cases, the percentage calculates against configured points possible in each assignment and awards the student accordingly.
